Federation of Master Builders joins the Energy Bill Revolution

May 29th, 2012

We are pleased to announce that the Federation of Master Builders (FMB) has joined the Energy Bill Revolution alliance, calling for warm homes and lower bills. The FMB is the UK’s largest trade association in the building sector.

The Energy Bill Revolution is calling on the Government to use the money it gets from carbon taxes to make our homes super-energy efficient. This is the only permanent way to drive down household energy bills and end fuel poverty. It would be enough to bring 9 out of 10 homes out of fuel poverty, generate up to 200,000 jobs and save four times more carbon emissions than the Government’s new energy efficiency policies.

FMB Chief Executive Brian Berry, said:

The FMB has joined the Energy Bill Revolution alliance to help persuade the Government that energy efficiency programmes are essential for driving down energy bills, making deep cuts in carbon emissions from our existing homes and creating major growth in jobs and the economy. The home repair, maintenance and improvement market is huge. Now the Government needs to ensure there are no missed opportunities to make all our existing homes more energy efficient.”
